“We don’t accomplish anything in this world alone... and whatever happens is the result of the whole tapestry of one’s life and all the weavings of individual threads form one to another that creates something.”
— Sandra Day O’Connor
Fultz & Singh is a collaborative regional design practice seeking to expand the potential
of community relationships through thoughtful reimagining of the built environment.
The studio was founded with the mission of creating a design practice based on authenticity, with an approach to design centered on the team’s unique ability to understand a client’s needs, aspirations, and cultural context. With an extraordinary capacity to interpret that understanding into a distinctive design response that reflects a client’s individuality, the team strives to cultivate an ethos of openness and empathy in the work.
Through engaged listening, material honesty, and sensitivity to surroundings, the studio is committed to delivering empathetic design solutions which enhance quality of life. Fultz & Singh believes that bringing a human connection to the practice of architecture has the power to effect positive change in the built environment, and in the lives and well-being of everyone that passes through their work.
Located in Richmond, Virginia - once the capitol of the Confederacy – the studio works within built fabric that is intermingled with both new and old worlds of design thinking. Adaptive reuse of these historic buildings allows the practice to participate in the continuum of historic southern charm while operating with a distinctly modern interventionist approach.
